Whether you are preparing for a family session, couples portraits or even just child portraits, the most important thing when figuring out what to wear for a photoshoot, is that everyone in front of the camera feels comfortable and confident in the clothes they are wearing. What you wear should reflect your personality and individual style. You need to feel great in your clothes so that your confidence can shine and we can photograph you as naturally as possible.

How you dress for your family portrait will make a big difference in how your final photograph will look like. I definitely recommend you coordinate with each other. This does NOT mean exact matching, uniform type of coordination. This means wearing colours that complement each other and don't direct people's attention to one individual. This might take some planning and communication, but it is well WORTH IT!

DO's

  1. Wear colours that complement each other.
  2. Wear neutral colours (white, black, khaki, nude, olive, gray)
  3. Dress according to the location of the photo shoot. I would be happy to discuss what colours look good in the location of the photo shoot.
  4. Wear clothing you feel comfortable in and fits you.

DON'Ts

  1. Wear bold colours or heavy patterns.
  2. Wear clothes that have more than 2 colours.
  3. Avoid wearing thin material
  4. Wear distracting jewelry or giant watches.
  5. Wear colourful clothing.

If you still don't know what to wear to your photoshoot. I would be happy to discuss what colours will look good in the location of the photo shoot.
